Corky Lee’s Asian America traces Lee’s decades-long quest for photographic justice, following Asian American social movement for recognition and rights, alongside his artistic development as a photographer.
Featuring never-before-published photographs alongside his best-known images, this new book represents Lee’s mission to chronicle a history of inclusion, resistance, ethnic pride, and patriotism.
Seating is limited at the event, and on a first come, first served basis. Late registrants may be put on a waiting list. The museum door will open at 6:00pm.
Copies of the book will be available for sale at the event.

Chee Wang Ng, Visual Designer & Artist
Chee Wang Ng is a Malaysian Asian Modern & Contemporary artist who was born in 1961. Numerous key galleries and museums such as Eskenazi Museum of Art have featured Chee Wang Ng's work in the past.Chee Wang Ng's work has been offered at auction multiple times.
Phil Tajitsu Nash, AALDEF Co-President and University of Maryland AAST
Phil Tajitsu Nash teaches in the Asian American Studies Program at the University of Maryland and serves as Co-President of the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund (AALDEF). He previously served as Founding Executive Director of the Asian American Justice Center (AAJC), Curator of the Asian Pacific American Program at the Smithsonian Institution’s 2010 Folklife Festival, and columnist for the N.Y. Nichibei and Asian Week newspapers.
Sojin Kim, Curator, Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage
Sojin Kim is a curator at the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage, where she works on multifaceted, collaborative projects addressing migration, music, and public history.
